Description:

The Peninsula Agency on Aging (PAA) provides many services to residents over 60 of Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Poquoson, James City County, and York County.

-Needs assessment and care coordination

-Meals on wheels and dining clubs

-Transportation to medical appointments (for those not eligible for Medicaid transportation)

-Adult day care stipends or in-home personal care

-Utility bill assistance and cooling equipment (fan or window unit)

-Help registering for Medicaid, Fuel Assistance, Cooling Assistance, and SNAP

-VICAP Medicare insurance counseling (PAA Can refer you to Bay Aging)

-Legal services (Free Wills Program)

-Check in calls through Caring Neighbors (Newport News and Hampton)

-Veteran Services (PAA offers a specific needs assessment and options counseling program for veterans as well as transportation to the Hampton VA Medical Center from anywhere in Hampton Roads)

-Support groups and educational resources for caregivers
