The Seton Youth Shelter's mission is to "provide a safe haven, counseling and outreach services, 24 hours per day, without charge, to assist youth in crisis throughout Hampton Roads with the goal of reuniting families."

Special Notes/Funding
Anger Management Program (A.M.P.) ---Designed to help children manage stress and anger in a healthy manner DEFY is an early intervention and drug education program designed to educate teens on selected drugs and the potential outcomes associated with substance abuse and addiction.
Availability
A.M.P. is offered six times per year, meeting once a week for six weeks.
Intake Procedure
Pre-registration is required. Interested clients should contact the Administrative Office.

This program serves runaway/homeless youth and youth in crisis within their family, school and/or community. Services Provided to Shelter Residents: ---Youth advocacy and individual/family crisis counseling ---Case management to facilitate coordination of services ---Community referrals ---Aftercare follow-up
Eligibility
Youth age 9-18 residing within Hampton roads who are in crisis. Youth who enter the shelter program must attend local public schools unless parents provide transportation to their home school.
Intake Procedure
Step One: ---The youth arrives at Seton and tells the first available employee that they need help. Step Two: ---The employee finds a quiet, comfortable place for the youth to wait until intake Step Three: ---Within 20-30 minutes or less, a Seton volunteer or staff member will arrive to talk with the youth and connect them with appropriate resources Step Five: ---Once at Seton, counselors meet with the youth and provide support, resources and help. ---Family members or guardians are called to let them know that their child is safe. ---Agency staff make sure the youth and their families receive the help and professional referrals they need.
