Description:

The Bon Secours Care-A-Van is a free medical service that provides general medical care to uninsured adults and families within Hampton Roads.

Services include routine evaluation and treatment of common acute illnesses including:
- Gastritis and heart burn
- Minor skin rashes
- Minor musculoskeletal pains
- Respiratory infections
- Urinary tract and bladder infections
- Headaches, ear aches, and pink eye
- Chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension

Additional Services:
- Sports physicals
- Children's health insurance enrollment
- Children's immunization services
- Referrals to local medical providers

The program currently serves 12 different locations between Newport News, Norfolk, Suffolk and Portsmouth.

Intake Process:

- Clients initial intake inside the partnering facility.
- Clients are seen on a first come, first served basis.
- A maximum of 20 clients are served each day.
- Services are conducted inside the van.
- Few follow-up appointments are available.

Program Fees:

All services are offered free of charge.

Languages:

English and Spanish are spoken by the staff.

Eligibility:

The Care-A-Van only provides services to clients who are uninsured and live within its service area.
