Required Documentation: ---Current bill in applicant's name ---Valid picture ID for all adults in the household ---Proof of household's income ---A copy of the client's current lease ---Proof of down payment if the original bill exceeded $150 ---Down payments must be made at a Farm Fresh or Wal-Mart. ---Proof of Social Services assistance application if eligible

Eligibility

Clients with one of the following individuals in their household must first apply for assistance from their local Social Services Office and be denied or require additional assistance before applying at the Salvation Army: ---An individual 60 or over ---A child under 6 ---A disabled individual (verified by receipt of disability payment such as SSI or SSDI) General Requirements: ---Bill must be for a Heating or Cooling expense (electric/gas) ---Bill can be from VA Dominion Power and VA Natural Gas ---Bill cannot exceed $150 ---Any bill with a balance in excess of $150 must be reduced before assistance will be provided Required Bill Statuses: ---Disconnect on most current bill, OR; ---Service Reconnection, OR; ---Closing Bill, OR; ---Payment Plan Down Payment, OR; ---Payment Plan Installment, OR; ---Budget Plan Removal Notice
