EVMS - Healthy Start Loving Steps

Description:

EVMS Healthy Start Loving Steps serve Prenatal & Post Partum mothers and babies up to 18 months in the Norfolk and Portsmouth area.

The Loving Steps team will:
*Visit with you at home to answer questions and provide education.
*Give you support and encouragement.
*Help explain information that your healthcare provider gives you.
*Help you access other services and necessary items.
*Teach you about breastfeeding and making healthy food choices.
*Assist you until your child is 2 years old

Program Fees:

All services are offered free of charge.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for services, a screening must indicate risk factors to the women and/or their babies. The screening includes medical and nutritional needs, social, econimic and environmental risks. Services aim to improve the overall outcome for the women and their newborns, and may include home visiting, care coordination, nutrition and breastfeeding support, mentoring, parenting information, health ed
