Franklin Cooperative Ministry

Description:

Franklin Cooperative Ministry is the primary service provider and resource center for the City of Franklin, Southampton County, and a small bordering portion of Isle of Wight County.
The organization is structured to pool resources, minimize duplication of resources and to provide residents a single source to go to when in need. FCM, the Departments of Social Services, Salvation Army, and Red Cross all work in cooperation to provide resources to residents in need.
Franklin Cooperative Ministries works as the central point of contact for the faith based groups in the service area.

We provide limited emergency assistance with food, clothing, dental extractions, eye glasses for adults, prescription medication, utilities* and rent*. (*We are unable to assist when these expenses are subsidized or income-based.)

Intake Process:

completion of one-page application, photo ID and verification of residence

verification of expense, need/emergency, and all income for everyone living at the address

interview (for financial assistance)

Program Fees:

None for qualified clients.

Languages:

English is spoken by the staff. There is no restriction on the language of the clients.

Eligibility:

Clients must be residents of the City of Franklin, Southampton County, and the border communities of Isle of Wight County.
