Potter's House

Description:

The Potter's House ministry is an extension of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. The Potters House networks with other local churches ensuring that efforts are not duplicated. Potter's House volunteers provide a support system for the homeless, working, and non-working poor by striving to meet their immediate needs.

Food is available Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. The building is open from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. clients can come in and sign up for an identification, bicycle repair, medical or dental checkup waiting list.

Assistance is available to clients who claim Virginia Beach residency.

Intake Process:

Clients in need of sack lunches can assemble on Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
The Bicycle Outreach requires the client to present a pay stub. NOTE: ForKids clients, needing Bicycles for employment. These clients identified by their case manager or Children's Service counselor can come to the call center where a fax will be sent to the director with the information.

Program Fees:

NO fee is charged for the services provided to eligible clients.

Eligibility:

Potters House services are for Virginia Beach Residents. Clients placing food orders can be served once every two months. Clients seeking financial assistance can be served once in a twelve month period. Fresh food is provided every Wednesday.

Tangible donations should be marked "Potter's House" and may be placed in the Potter's House cart near the Welcome Center. Monetary donations may be made to the Virginia Beach United Methodist Church with the memo "Potter's House".
